Iskele Village
Iskele village, or properly named Yeni Iskele, is where Turkish Cypriots relocated from the district of Iskele in Larnaca in 1975. It is also the birthplace of the EOKA leader Georgios Grivas. The Icon Museum houses a small collection of wall paintings dating back to the 12th to 15th centuries in the west. The village is made up of local Cypriots, British-born Cypriots, and foreigners. The village annually hosts a festival where dancers from around the world perform. It has a charming park with swings for children, an outdoor gym, and a five-a-side football pitch with SuperastroTurf. There are relaxing walking paths and benches, an amphitheater, and a small cafe. It is a large village close to all amenities you may need. It is a 35-minute drive to Ercan Airport and a short 20-minute drive to Famagusta. Nearby, Iskele Beach is a long sandy beach just a 5-minute distance. Bogaz Harbor is less than 10 minutes away, leading to the entire Karpaz Peninsula to explore. You can find a variety of good restaurants in the village and in Bogaz.
Bogaz
The Bosphorus is located at the gateway to the Karpaz Peninsula. It is a working harbour, and is a delightful mix of both Europeans and local Turkish Cypriots. It has many restaurants and cozy bars, and is a delightful meeting place for all. Daily trips out to sea are offered by local boat owners where you can chance your luck by catching your own dinner. Ercan Airport can be reached within 40 minutes or so, and the historic city of Famagusta is a short drive along the scenic coastal road heading west. Bogaz offers a unique atmosphere in Cyprus, and is becoming a popular choice for both holiday and permanent residences. Around the harbor you can find a first class selection of restaurants and bars where one can enjoy a pleasant drink or a meal as you survey the activities in the harbor or watch the sparkling waters of the Mediterranean lap onto the beach. The area is blessed with a number of sandy beaches and is well located to benefit from some exciting developments that are either planned, under construction, or already completed. ```
